The Netherlands stands at the Top with 4th place in World Happiness Report
The United Nations “World Happiness Report,” placed Holland on the fourth place of the list of the happiest nations in the world. The ranking placed Denmark at the top of the list, above of Finland, Norway, the Netherlands & Canada. According the reporters a country’s wealth doesn’t mean its happiness.
Political freedom, strong social networks and an absence of corruption are together more important than income in explaining well-being differences between the top and bottom countries. At the individual level, good mental and physical health, someone to count on, job security and stable families are crucial.
The report was published at the Conference on Happiness which was authorized by the General Assembly of the UN.
The Earth institute took the privilege of publishing this report. Jeffery Sachs, who co-edited the report, presented a view on how government policies should increasingly focus on happiness and making misery absent. Apart from presenting a survey, the conference also paved way for new suggestions.
Explore Amsterdam with the QR code
QR Code in Amsterdam If you want to taste the historical richness of Amsterdam and engage with the memories of its past, make use of QR code. In the year 2009 the city came with a campaign of ‘Explore a different Amsterdam’. This step was taken to ensure that the tourists as well as the locals do not miss out on the treasures of the city that lies in its various districts and neighborhoods. With the help of QR codes, the city now offers an interactive tour session to the historical places. Here is what you need to know about the QR codes of Amsterdam and how to explore the city using the same.

This project has put up 139 sign boards all over the city. Whether its buildings, water parks, museums or other tourist locations, QR codes have got them covered. These selected places will consist of ceramic tiles. These tiles are handmade and the technique dates back to the sixteenth century. The tile will contain a special QR code along with information about the historical place and the current scenario of the tile.
